Preserve the original
Select an artboard and choose Create variation. Direktly first saves a separate editable copy, then opens a change request for that copy.
Choose a direction
Describe the difference you want: another layout, a calmer colour treatment, stronger typography or a different hierarchy. Review the request before sending. AI changes are not started simply by creating the copy.
Compare
Both artboards remain in the project. Use Fit to view them together and rename the one you want to develop. A variation is a separate artboard; a revision is an earlier state of the project.
